Rocky Mountain Freeride

Series

Taking Freeride to New Heights in the Rockies

About Us Overview

The Rocky Mountain Freeride Series (RMFS) was created as the Rocky Mountain regional branch of the International Freeskier and Snowboarders Association (IFSA) in Colorado and New Mexico.

RMFS, is led by an appointed IFSA Regional Director and the organization is counseled by a committee of regional coaches. We provide consistency across events and guarantee three start opportunities for RMFS athletes. As an organization, RMFS handles event registrations and collects regional dues to fund athlete starts, coach communication, meetings, judging and TD coordination, athlete helmet numbers, and region-specific website updates.

Mission

In response to the growing demand for freeriding competitions, RMFS was founded with coaches for the aim of ensuring equitable access to regional competitions for all athletes. Our mission involves establishing consistency in our regional events and collaborating to create a fun and secure environment for our athletes.

THE RMFS TEAM

HERE FOR YOU.

We consider it absolutely magic to work toward the success of all of our members & athletes. The opportunity to impact lives and continue our sport's progress gets us out of bed every day!
Director

Shannon Moller, IFSA Regional Director
Shannon founded RMFS in 2016 and has built it into the leading resource it is today. She lives in Colorado with her husband, Mike. They have 3 boys who have grown up through the IFSA pipeline into the highest level of the freeride competitive world. You name it, she’s seen it!

Although RMFS does not execute the events themselves, you may still see Shannon and Mike and their boys, Grifen, Blake and Tanner among the crowd!

Assistant Director

Emily Dorman, Assistant Regional Director

Emily comes to RMFS having experience as a freerider herself, a parent of an IFSA athlete, a certified L100 coach, and has worked as an Event Organizer for IFSA. She calls Summit County home with her husband Zach, their teenage son Noah, and their goofy Bernese Mountain Dog named Estes.

If you hear a lot of cowbells at an event or see a dope charcuterie “board” you can bet she isn’t far.

"Thank you for hosting the IFSA Comp at Monarch. It was my family’s first time there and we enjoyed both the ski area and Salida. You did an amazing job getting everyone who works for the ski area on board for the Comp from Ski Patrol to the folks in the ticket office — it seemed flawless."
